Our Story

We missed our kids walking, laughing and talking for the first time

Chris had been working away from home a lot. He missed his daughter walking, laughing, and talking for the first time. We founded Firstbase with the belief that everyone should have more time with the people they care about most, being able to do the things that make them happiest, while doing the best work of their lives.

Nothing will deliver a higher quality of life increase in the next decade than distributed work and the ability for workers globally to access great jobs from wherever they are. Workers will have more autonomy and trust to decide their work schedule. They will be able to operate when they are most productive rather than a fixed day. The outcome will be a better future of living for millions of workers and their families globally.

At Firstbase, we were our first customer. We saw the problems that we faced as we built our distributed team and our product emerged as a result. This grounds us with a day 1 problem-solving mindset for our customers. As we grew, we saw more problems and solved them. Now we get to do that for some of the most exciting fastest growing companies in the world accelerating us towards a better future of work and living.
